RSHE Parent Consultation
Dear Families
We are now in our final stage of consultation for the RSHE policy September 2026. As we have explained over our consultation process there is very limited change for us, when compared to the 2019 version. We have confidence in our RSHE delivery and we already meet much of the changes that are being requested.
By now there has been a wide range of consultation options across the federation and you will see attached the action plan that demonstrates this consultation process since the start of the year. We thank you for your views and support. We are now in a position to share our draft policy. This was created in partnership with Newham PSHE association, that works alongside Newham Sacre and all Newham stakeholders, to create a policy that is supportive to Newham pupils and families.
This draft policy has been taken to our committee governor group and we will now take it, as a final stage to our Full Governing Board, 01st July for ratification and publication on our website ready for September 2026.
Whilst this is a statutory guidance and policy by government, you will note that we have the opportunity to personalise it to meet the needs of our own pupils and families. We feel we have written a policy to meet our federation needs.
Whilst this is in the last stages of completion we still welcome thoughts and questions. If you do have any thoughts and questions they must be taken to the front office, at each school, in the federation and I will return contact. For any views and questions to be considered they must be shared by Wednesday 17th June.
On the request from families, we have translated the policy into Urdu, Bengali and Arabic (THIS HAS BEEN GENERATED BY AN ONLINE PLATFORM SO PLEASE DO NOTE THERE MAY BE SOME INACCURACIES) These can be found above. If you would like the policy translated into another language, please let the school office know with your name and contact details.
This consultation has no links to the unit of work being taught next week 'This is Me' - 'Changing and Growing' - 'Changing Adolescent Bodies' w/b 15th June. Next week follows the previous policy 2019 and remains statutory. Please note that the only non statutory content being taught next week is 'How babies are made' in year 6. If you do not wish your child to take part in that lesson you must ensure that you let the school know.
Thank you
